Taken while on an Alan Murphy workshop end of March in south Texas. Yes I wish the branch wasn't in front of the bird but this is where it chose to perch , and not having anything in my files of this bird I decided to keep it. Great workshop, bye the way.

    Joe:

Sounds like you had fun at the workshop!

Good looking bobwhite. The branch is unfortunate as mentioned, since OOF stuff in front of the subject really catches the viewers eye. Nicely exposed, sharp, nice pose.

I wish there was just a bit more room to the right. I also get the sense of a very soft halo around the entire bird.

Hope to see some more of your workshop beauties.

    Cheers

    Randy

Hi Joe: What a lovely capture you have here, branch or no branch. The light is killer. I enjoy the detail in the feathers and the angle. I could go for just a tad more canvas on the left and maybe just a little off the bottom. This would not have gone into my delete folder either.

Great capture Joe and so neat to see them in such lovely surroundings. Excellent detail and good eye contact. Thanks for sharing.

Nice image Joe with beautiful detail in the feathers. Certainly unusual to see a bob white in a tree!

I like it...and you've stated the issue of the grasses. If this is nearly full frame, you might try cropping for a portrait out of it. If you're using it for a website it should work well. Congrats on getting this.......I hear them but rarely see them.....at least when I have a camera.

Now that's a tasty meatball. Well done Joe. Not to many images of Bobwhites off the ground.

    Joe,

Nice capture on this Bobwhite. Looks like he likes fast food a little to much.

    Thanks for sharing...
