    Captured in Costa Rica last week. 50% crop in CS3. Another example of my fear of higher ISO's! I will use them in the future!

    Camera Model: NIKON D300, tripod mounted
    Shutter speed: 1/125 sec
    Aperture: 5.6
    Exposure mode: Manual
    Flash: Optional,TTL, -2
    Metering mode: Spot
    ISO: 400
    Lens: VR 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6D
    Focal length: 400mm
    VR Image Stabilization: On
    AF mode: AF-S

    The relatively low ISO didn't hurt you too much Dan. There is however a bit of a blue color cast to the image. Here's a repost with the following CS4 adjustments. I added a color balance adjustment layer, moved the yellow-blue slider -20 and the cyan-red slider +23. I'd also go with a slightly tighter crop.

    Gorgeous bird - Dans repost does it for me. You needed a 800 Dan ! Shutter speed a little slow for 400mm as pointed out, but you have done well with the slow speed - nice job:)

    A super capture Dan,
    I like the natural habitat, and the colors on your bird are superb...agree with the color cast and the repost rocks...congrats...:cool:

    Don't be afraid to crank up the ISO Dan 800 should be close to noise free for you and 1600 is doable with some post processing work !!!!

    Thanks Doug, your adjustments really make a big difference! I will apply them also!
