    When they are hunting, these beauties look nowhere but down. This is about 40% of the original. Another from Wako a few weeks back.

    My comment is F7.1 on the 400DO lens. I shoot this glass and its sweet spot is 7.1 and f8
    6.3 and 5.6 OK 4.0 just not quite as sharp. good exposure on the whites, nice pose, just a little
    soft.

    Hi David: You have a nice pose on this Least Tern. Love the wing and tail spread, and the whites look good. Agree that the picture looks a bit soft. Must also add that these birds are EXTREMELY difficult to photograph in flight b/c they are so darned fast.

    I also photograph with the 400 DO. I rarely photograph a bird at F4. I try to keep it between F5.6 and F8 for best results.

    I like the wing position and light and would sharpen the bird more. Is it a least tern?
