Superb image Dave. I love that warm and fantastic light and the detailed textures in the feathers of the right wing. Very good eye contact and action, perfect timing and the dragon fly in the beak is a big bonus. A better position for the left wing would be great. Big congratulations for this stunning image :-)

Superb flying posture, with great eye contact. This is pin sharp, with stunning light, in which you have exposed the colours nicely. The comp works perfectly, and his catch a bonus. Great image Dave.

A great capture, a lot more difficult than getting them on the ground. I am however concerned by the colours as they appear on my monitor the "carmine" breast looks much too red is that just down to the strong sunlight?

Bonus points for getting the BIF with a bee! The late light is nice as is the comp.
Maybe a little noise cleanup under the birds left wing?

    Ken:

I agree with you about the color. I looked at the red channel, and it is blown in the jpeg on the breast. A minor tweak in saturation brought it down nicely. Bird still looks vibrant, but not too hot on the breast.

Randy and Ken thanks I have checked and tweaked the sats as suggested.

Great flyby, details and the bee adds to it. The repost is definitely an improvement.

The repost looks great IMO. This is really nice, and a challenging photo to take. It seems like the eye could be just a tiny bit sharper.
