Or do you think I should crop it like this?

I grew up in a valley high in the Andes of Peru where lots of Scotch Broom grew and bloomed. It is so good to see it close up (which I never did as a child). This image brings back happy memories.

I think the second crop works a little better due to not cutting flowers in half. I like the paralled lines of the stems and the shallow DOF.

Anita, How interesting that you grew up in the Andes! I bet it was gorgeous!

You grew up in the Andes? Lucky girl! I took one look at the first photo and thought "Yeah, I better scroll down...I bet there's a tighter crop coming..." and sure enough! Just what I was thinking!

Beautiful soft palette and love the repeating pattern. The second image really brings it all together IMO.

I like the second one, also.

Going with the flow here and agreeing: second crop works much better! There seems to be a lot going on here, but it simplifies to the stems and blooms, and my eye keeps landing on the lower center bloom in focus, making it an "easy" image to view. Good activity, but still a central focus (subject). Nice job!

Hey Denise, another vote for the second.
