All the great blue herons in Florida look so happy and bright. Not so for those that live on Long Island in the winter.

Thanks for looking and for your comments.

    Grace,

A very different but nice image. What is not to like about this creation. I don't mind the busy background at all. The proportions, the framing, the colors, focus, light, everything excellent... A superb image imho. Thanks for sharing.

Grace, I agree with Mohammed. This is very different--and an intriquing image. The subject is sharp and you have a nice dof working for you.
    Brrrrrr.....

The eye of the Great Blue stands out very nicely! This is a good habitat shot, the environment that you captured him in adds a lot to the impact of the image. I might crop a little off the top.

Amazing how well this busy habitat works. I agree with Blake regarding cropping a bit off the top.

Hi Grace. This image conveys a great sense of place within this bird's habitat.

Very nice details and positioning of the subject. I would select the bird and darken just the bird to bring out some detail and make the image pop.
