You were using a 600 with a 1.4 tele, thats a lot of lens for the Anhinga Trail if thats where you were, on one of these birds. they will let you get real close, as close as 6-8 feet away. It has some softness on the beak and the face is in shadow. It also looks to be a bit noisy. Do you have a bit more information or specs? how much of a crop, how far away were you?
Hi Rick I like the bg you were able to line up and selected crop !!!
Have to agree with Grady you should be able to get real close to those birds, will avoid the converter and will be able to pick up a stop in speed. Also did not see the exp comp but original might have been a little under then you open in PS? ... Just guessing since there is a fair amount of noise and you should be fine at 320 !! ... we don't have many birds left at Anhinga...already waiting for next year !!!
Grady,
Fishing osprey's where my primary targets and the location was 9 mile pond. This bird looked like it was wearing a mask that's why I took the picture. I cropped it about 25%. I used a EC of 1 stop as not to blow the tip of the beak out.
Thanks, Rick
