The birds are passing thorugh on their way to Alaskan breeding grounds. Many stop in the Boundary Bay, BC area to fuel up. Taken off the end of 72nd Street on an early morning high tide. 50D, 400/5.6 at f/8, Av mode, 1/750, EC +1, ISO400.

Nice position in the frame considering you are keeping the circle in the water. I think you can still take some off the right yet. Good EXP control and detail. I'd take away some contrast if it were mine.

Nice low angle, and the water ripples look great. Too bad the reflection is not stronger. Critical focus point is on the shoulder with the face rendered soft compared to the body. As posted I may crop some at right. If the light angle was directly from behind you (and a bit to the right) the beautiful colours on the wing would have been nicely showcased. Good news is that the face has good light on it.

Cute little guy. I like the exposure, but find the eye a bit soft.

Just want to add there seems to be some halo around the bird. Nice photo nonetheless. Love the feel and the water !

I like the angle and eye contact. It might work as a slightly tighter crop, too, and I would try to selectively sharpen the head more.

Lovely low angle, and like the still water. Comp wise, I would move him back to the right a bit, and take a bit off the left.
