Shot this on a bad day at Ding Darling. Not many images were taken that day and this was, as we generally say, a throw away. However ... sometimes we need to take a second look and see what we really have.
By my past examples, I hope I have awakened some of those who think they didn't get it, or on those days when we consider deleting the whole memory card as I did here, to look again. It might be, as close as a little directional lighting, color and canvas background, as is the case here.
I don't have the recipe for this one, but that was basically what made it happen. The BG was bland, the bird was poorly exposed, and the day was long and unfulfilling. But this was still there for the taking.
Mark, It's a really cool abstract-looks like your signature image, with a few PP steps in the opposite direction. When I look at it I see an upside down fish skeleton that I sketched for a seafood restaurant a couple of years ago. That's when you know you've got a keeper-when everyone sees something different!!I like the textured BG gives some warmth to the image-Well done!
Mark, this image reminds me of Japanese silk, woven and then painted on. Very Zen image. I see the balance of green and red, highlight and shadow, image and reflection that you have created. Thank you for sharing your images and your thoughts.
Mark I like the reflection and the colour and textures of the BG. The only thing I might do is to offset the bird a bit more and put him over to the left so he's not quite as centered. Frame is effective too for this image.
I didn't orignally know how to present it, when I first saw it on screen, as noted it was not the best of images. Then this started to fall into place with the colors and texture. When I completed it, my first feeling was also the Japanese silk image you mention.
The fish is there! :)
To shoot it and get a "quality image", I would not frame it this way. But given the "vision" I felt the spacing of the bird and the tree were appropriate. Maybe not, but ...
Thanks again for viewing. As usual, it was fun making.
