    these two jackal had just seen off the unwanted attentions of a young leopard.

    Nice comp with the habitat image. Great alert look.... Seems a a bit soft perhaps a bit of USM...

    Peter,
    I like the composition. It looks soft. No idea why as you have photographed this scene at ISO 400, f5.6, 1/1000th sec. I would have definitely used a narrow aperture atleast f8. That would have brought down the shutter speed to 1/500 and still be good to get sharp shots. I would have tried a few at f9 as well.

    I like the alert pose of the pair. Good lighting as well. You might try a bit tighter crop to showcase the jackals a little better.

    Great comp, and what sweet light Peter. Not sure if all the grass has interfered with your focussing point, but have to agree the jackals look a bit soft. Still a great image.

    Besides the sharpness issue, I like the way they really blend into the enviroment. Nice light as well.

    thanks everybody for comments , really appreciated .. agree about the softness , i forgot to apply sharpening before i posted.. silly me..
    thanks Sabyasachi for comments ..agree about settings f8 wud have been ideal..but i was having problems with stability on the car bracket i was using .. so needed that little extra speed ... not that it did any good ...
