These birds are passing through Georgia for a few days. I finally got lucky and got close enough for some photos of this male at Kennesaw Mountain State Park.

A lovely grosbeak. Well exposed, with an interesting background, if perhaps a bit busy. The observations I would make about the technicals:
1) Steep shooting angle not as flattering/intimate as a lower one. I know you had no control there
2)Shading of the lower 2/3rds by foliage. Fill flash would have helped.
3)The eye and head aren't critically sharp, need a little more work.
Hi Rich - agree with randys critique - also when you post it helps if you include full shooting info including shutter speed and aperture.
Looking forward to seeing more :)
I always feel like my photos do not look as sharp on this site. Maybe its because I have to reduce the size of them. Anyone care to take a look at the original post here and see if it looks like it still needs sharpening? http://www.pbase.com/cre8foru/image/111784105/original
