    I'm always puzzled that shorebirds are so tame in Florida. One of the birds even seems to be preening.

    hey axel, arent they the same birds you guys see in the summer up north? i guess they just like our southern charm better!!:p

    I guess the northern charm campaign is still in the works. Maybe you could come up here and show us how to treat the birdies properly. :)

    Stop teasing Al! This is just ridiculous! No one told Aussie birds to bloomin' relax.

    I bet as soon as I would lay there with my measly 300mm/1.4x combo they'd scatter. If not, I am on a flight asap. :D

    They are very tame Akos They get use to the people and then tolerate photographers ... trick is going a weekday when its not crowded !!!

    Great capture of the everyday life on the beach at Sanibel. Amazing how they all have adjusted to the beach walkers. I sure do hope all the babies survive the busy beach !!!!! Thanks for sharing Alfred.

    Oh man, these images are painful! I'm lucky to get within 30 feet of any bird out here in the "wild west". On the other hand, I don't have to clone out tourists! ;)
