From last weekend we also found some black-bellied plovers. These birds are curious ... will hang around and even come up to you for checking you out !!!
Best to work a low angle and interesting bg. Since I was able to shoot against the ocean took advantage for the pretty blue .... btw here I had constantly changing light and went back to Av In this case it is easier keeping up with compensation only and letting the camera determine the base exposure, bg is not a problem.
Comments welcome and much appreciated

Good point on the crop and glad you brought it up !! Interested in seeing how everyone else feels about it. btw feel free to download and crop any way you want !!
Cropping wise we have been told to fill the frame then in some posts you see ..."wish for more room around the bird" For me I like having about 75 to 80 percent bird in the frame any tighter doesn't look right. For this I like slighter less room at the left but like all else ... wondering if anyone would catch and you did at the first reply:)
i dont know if i would go tighter, just a little off the left side. but that's because that is what has always been the norm as far as compo goes. i dont mind breaking rules and this aint that bad.
Hey Mr. Forns,
I'm going against the flow here...:D I like it as presented...I like the soft powdered blue background, the ultra low capture angle and the fine details and color rendition on your little guy...:)
Hi Alfred,
This would be my crop suggestion. I am going by what looks pleasing to me and not any specific rule.
When photographing baby birds like the one I posted and the one you posted yesterday I like to have a lot of room around, i feel it gives a sense of vulnerability to the chick.
Totally agree Adams it is the best way to crop. I like the slighter tighter crop and still has plenty of room for the bird !!! ... good point with the baby bird.
Vote for the tighter crop.
Not to repeat above said, I love the light blue and the low angle.
Thanks for sharing the changing light and working in Av info.
Quite useful to know.
