You have demonstrated the 'head throw' very well here Al - and with great BG.
Our Aussie pelicans look so drab after seeing these little guys!!! This image does appear a little bright on my monitor.

Hi Alfred. Very cool image. I don't know pelicans well and thus have never seen this behavior. Thanks.

Well done, a super illustration of the red throat and sky-pointed head. You are correct, many do not realize the bird is actually preening, rubbing its uropygial gland when it is doing this -- I didn't for the first several years I spent watching these guys. The light looks nice and soft.

Preening? I thought he was counting the clouds. :) Great pose and details.

Great shot. I'd love to witness this behavior in person someday.

nice details Alfred, great pose! I might be inclined to clone out some of the droppings.

Excellent capture of an interesting pose. The detail in the feathers of his body is excellent. I'll have to head out there to La Jolla with you some day :D

Amazing posture and great capture once again, Alfred !
Have you tried any portrait format to see the difference ?

It does look too bright compare to the soft lighting.

Love it alfred. Get ready for a head throw!

Looks a little, slightly washed out of thin, I would darken or use curves for more saturation, detail and colors
