    Default Common Goldeneye (hen)

Spending time on migratory waterfowl coming back through MN these days has been fun and rewarding at times. Here is the female Common Goldeneye photographed at the end of the day. I was at the edge of cattails all dolled up in camo at the waters edge.

Absolutely stunning light and colours in this Mike. Not to mention the detail too. Your low angle just takes this over the top. Congrats on an outstanding image.

i like the soft light in this image! congrats on nabbing this one!

however, i feel the eye looks too sharp as compared to the rest of the bird.

The light you captured here is simply amazing. And your picture is so sharp. That yellow eye doesn't even look real. Nicely captured!

The golden glow reminds me the lazy days of summer are on the way. Beautiful image, with an eye that just captures your gaze.

Very nice shot Mike, the colors of the water are very complimentary to the bird and that warm light is awesome. Are you sure this is a Common Goldeneye though? It looks a lot like a Barrow's Goldeneye hen to me: The head shape (steeper forehead) and predominantly yellow bill is usually diagnostic of Barrow's

Excellent colors and details. Love the angle. I would be tempted to crop a little more from below. I like it, looks so warm and inviting! :)
