I took this image on Moose Wilson Rd. in the Tetons, It was raining off and on .She had another cub that was off to the right . Shot with my 100-400mm. I applied a Topaz simplicity effect to it.

Like this a lot, Denise! Nice poses and eye contact. The topaz gave it a nice painted look. I think if the momma bear was completely in the picture it would be over the top. Well done!
I love this effect Denise. The hand would have been a bonus, but it still tells a story. Might even go for a tighter crop and remove the table(?). Anyways nice interaction between the mom and cub:)
Thanks for the comments guys-I had originally thought to crop out the mom -but didn't have the heart!! I may someday!!!
Jackie, That's a couple of fallen trees.

This is the next frame. I didn't cut off the arm but the cub isn't as cute IMO. I cropped and cloned the trees for Jackie, let me know your thoughts-This is the best I could manage for a re-post since I wasn't going to add an arm!!
Hi Denise,
The second image is the way to go...but that cub in the first image is a real showstopper! Love the the raised paw, and the effect and the way the bears, the foliage and the rock is rendered. Beautiful all around!
I am late posting to this thread, I am new and haven't been reading all the forums much yet. I am reading mostly in the Eager To Learn forum....yet I am not a photographer at all! My friend, Kerry Perkins showed me this site, and I have been an avid reader ever since! I may not be able to photograph myself out of a paper bag, but I have no shortage of opinions! And I do a bit of photoshopping, because my daughter is a professional photographer (portraits) and I do help her with touch-ups, etc. from time to time.
I was so captivated by your bears photo, and by the amazingly effective technique you used on them, I couldn't help myself and decided to go ahead and try a 'best of both worlds' trick, so that the adorable baby could be in the same photograph as his full sized mommy! I hope you don't mind. See if you like it, it is just for fun. :-)
Kathleen, First of all welcome to BPN! Any friend of Kerry is a friend of mine.Kerry has alot of talent and I just love all of his posts!! I really like what you did with that image-very nice PP skills!! I hope to be doing an "Optimize this Image" soon. That is where I will post an image in need of PP and see what everyone comes up with.If you go back to around Feb. in the forum we did one and it was very popular.I have been thinking of doing another and will soon! In the meantime have you tried any of the composition exercises at the top of this forum that Fabs has posted. They are fun and require some skill. A new one is coming up-but you can still submit your compositions.Again Welcome and if you have any questions please don't hesitate!!
Thanks Denise! I am very much enjoying it here! I am not only blown away by the beauty and talent, but by the graciousness and kindness of the members! A very rare combination! :o
