    TOOK THIS AT A RSPB RESERVE LEIGHTON MOSS,IN LANCASHIRE,I KNOW THAT THE HEAD ANGLE MIGHT NOT PLEASE SOME OF YOU,BUT I LIKED IT,THATS WHY I TOOK THE SHOT,ITS BACKWARD LOOK, SAYS I KNOW YOUR THERE,CRITICS WELLCOME,GOOD OR BAD.THANKS.     Hi Christopher, I understand you reasoning for the head angle but I still would prefer a better turn. Actually, with the light angled the way it is a better complete body turn towards the right would have lit it up more. There is a hot patch on the white cheek, perhaps you would be able to recover it in RAW conversion (you do use RAW?). Nice depiction of the habitat, I take it this is typical of where one would find this species.

    thanks for your remarks Daniel,this particular spot is a marsh,but you can find this bird on farmland and moorland,and estuarys,its allso called lapwing uphere in the north.

    Christopeher the light is very harsh and the head turn is not optimal. Is nice to see the bird´s habitat but it is a bit distracting due to the steped shooting angle. Too bada that the light was not better because this species has a magnificent plumage under good light conditions :-)

    Would love the opportunity to see this species and thanks for sharing with us Christopher. I do agree with the above comments and it would be more desirable to have had more of a head turn but they don't always cooperate. Many thanks for sharing.
