    From the beach a good example of going manual. Once you find an exposure you like just lock it in and fire away as long as the light is constant. All you need to take into consideration is the color of the subject. Even here I'm photographing mostly a particular subject lets say a white bird, then I just open 1/3 for darker ones.

    Very nice and appears to be breeding plumage of xxxxxxx species? I am not a shorebird guru. :D

    Wish for the bottom center and to a small degree RC to be a bit cleaner Sir. :)

    Thanks for posting this info on MM AL. It all helps:) Would have been perfection without the OOF elements, but I must say I find your DOF quite wonderful here. And the exposure looks spot on. Like the crop too.

    Love the play on the depth of field and selective focus point...the color rendition is very good and so is the ultra low capture angle...this must have been a belly shot...:D:cool:

    the compo is really cool, but the detail is over the top.

    hey al, thanks for obliging me here. i worked it totally in capture nx2 and came up with this. about the only thing i see different is yours is a little under mine. i could have gone there, but wanted to see what you said about it first.

    thanks again!!! i need a prime lens for sure!!!

    Looks good Harold ... you thinking on a prime lens :) wonder how it will be after being able to zoom like you do now !!!!

    I like this image very much. Love the fact that we could see the eye/eyes of each of them. I prefer the original version though.
