A four day old snowy plover chick. Amazing how much ground they can cover and at such speed !!! Mom does keep a close eye. Three hatch and still together.

Cute little guy. Like your DOF and the smooth transition of colors in the BG.

Very nice high-key image, you must love the cuteness of the bird.
I wish the shadow on the left was not there, but it is great as presented too.
You are lucky with the white sands down in Florida. Makes really great shorebirds
    images.

I love this little "lint ball". Your image portrays his fragility. Good use of the DOF.....really draws attention to him. Well done.

Very nice. One cute chick. I really like the background with the green defusing into the light color of the sand. The detail of the little guy is very good. I wouldn't change a thing.

    Hey Alfred:

What happened to the rear 1/2 of the bird? It looks like you cut it off. :):)

What a big head and little body.

I would have thought you might have to add a little plus
EC to keep this predominately white scene from being recorded as a medium grey. At least thats what I need to do with the whites we have here (snow!) Does the 50D meter differently?

    Thanks for sharing. Too cute.

    Hi All,
I am a big fan of low angle images like this one. The subject stands out nicely against the OOF BG.
I was at Estero Lagoon last Friday and the place was a ghost town.

You did a great job capturing the detail of this chick. The exposure is nice. It's sharp. Nice low angle and clean BG. I wish the shadow were shells, vegetation or seaweed. I think it would better anchor the photograph. Unfortunately, we can't always have it the way we want it, which is what makes photography such a challenge.

Great DOF shown in this, and what a great low angle of capture. Excellent exposure and sharpness on the little guy, and the upper green in the BG adds to the image.

You did pretty good here considering the mobility of the subject :)

    Hi Alfred!

So cute!! Love the low, intimate feel. On my screen, it looks slightly blue ... and I hope you find this quick & dirty repost is an improvement.

Hi Brian The image was made in fairly harsh light and did not have a warm look. Does look appealing but not the way it was !!! Any image could be warmed up ... imagine is what we want to represent !!!
