    Default Semipalmated Plover in Breeding Plumage

    One of my favorite shorebirds. I'd been wanting one of these guys in breeding plumage, when I happened on a trio of them in high breeding plumage this morning at Morro Bay. They made me wish I had a 600mm lens ;)

    50D, 100-400 at 400
    1/1000, f/6.3, ISO 250
    75% of full frame

    Lovely colors, I have never seen them like that. Love the low angle and BG.

    First in breeding plumage for me Aidan Sure is a good looking bird !! Great low angle, sweet light and pose !!! Big Congrats !!!

    Great perspective and HA. Yes, the 600mm/4L IS is a killer lens.

    There are a lot of things that I wished I had a 600mm lens. LOL. Excellent low angle, and great eye contact Aidan. Love the soft pastel colours in this too.
