A week old and already giving Mommy and hard time!!! One of the biggest challenges in photography, they don't hold still long enough for you to focus and when they do, by the time you press the shutter they are gone

This is such a cute and lovely scene Fabs! Great light, BG, moment, colors and details, great low angle and perfect exposure, I only wish the sand was a cleaner, but as it is I don't have anything to critique really. Congratulations!

I love the light and the poses. Sharpnees is good. I might run some NR on the BG though.

How common/accesible are snowy plover nests in Florida?

    Thanks, Aidan.
Nests are cordoned off, you can't get to them, but they do wander away.
Although they are not endangered in the rest of the nation, they are in Florida.

    Fabs:

I agree with the technicals assessment from Ramon. It would be a very easy exposure to miss.

The posing is lots of fun. There is always one adventurous one in every family!

    Thanks for sharing.

Very nice low perspective Fabs and great light. Agree that the little ones are not keen on staying still long. Congrats! :)

Nicely done Madam Fabs with very difficult subjects to say the least, especially once they have left the nest site and are foraging. At one week old these chicks are unable to maintain their body temperature and must be brooded(kept warm) by the parents.

Nice family portrait. I like the little BG bump mimicing the chicks body. How do they walk on those things? :)

    Very tender image Fabs.

The little guys seems to be doing fine. I would run some NR on BG.

You have captured a true moment in "motherhood"......keeping up with the little ones. Excellent action along with perfect exposure. I'll be anxious to see more of these little guys. Well done.

You did well with what you had to work with here. You captured a special moment. It's amazing how far these chicks can walk when they are just one day old. And they are quick, too!

I like the sand the way it is. I think this is a good environmental and behavior shot all in one. It tells a nice story. I like the sand on the adult's beak and the catchlight is nice.

Great DOF, and a lovely low angle Fabs. Two out of three with eye contact not bad, considering they are always moving around. Excellent exposure, and well captured.

Gotta love these little guys ... very cute :)

small nit - a dot of sensor dust just above the mom's head. Otherwise impeccable.

    Hi Fabs!

Another cutie with lots of expression ... made me smile! The direct eye contact of the chick is precious! I see a small dust bunny above the mommie.

Can't get much cuter Fabs. The one chick on its own versus the one under mom's wing tell a good story.
