    Default Peregrine over Meadow

    Hi There

I post this capture once again taken at the Hawk Conservancy, this picture is of a Peregrine Falcon doing a flight over a typical chalkland meadow.
I wanted to get the falcon as sharp as possible so despite the good light I upped the ISO to 800 and set a fast shutter speed of 1/5000 of a second as he was moving pretty fast as he flew by me.

The meadow is a gorgeous setting for this magnificent bird. If I could change anything about this image, I'd want the bird coming toward me rather than away from me. I've seen Peregrine falcons fly.......and they are incredibly fast. I'm just impressed that you get some many great flight shots......much better than anything I've captured.

    Hi Lana

Well in all my trips to the Conservancy last year i was trying to get the shot you mentioned, when it came along it was not sharp :(. Still there is always this year when summer's here.

I know what you mean.......you've had some great success.....and I'll bet this spring that you'll nail this one. This sure is a nice attempt.
