Taken in Pretoria at one of the local birding spots. These guys are very fast flyers, sometimes they give you warning that they are coming, sometimes they just whizz past you.

I like the pose, details and eye contact. You probably could have gotten away with a lower ISO setting.

    Stuart:

Sharp, well exposed, nice wing and head position. Pano crop works well here.

Because he is angling towards you, it really helped show off the back wing. Nice job.

Wow, you are one brave individual using ISO 1600 on a 50D!!!
I wouldn't even go to 800 in the brief time I had it.

Excellent focusing for a flyby, that the 50D has, great focusing system. I like the wing position, green speculum and catch light.

Nice timing on the pose. I like the shiny green in the wing. Bill looks a little bright to me. ISO looks ok to me.

Very nice image Stuart. Lovely wingspread and colors. That green sheen is beautiful! :)

I like the wing position showing the iridescence. Good timing well captured. Good eye contact and feather detail.
