Hi all! After 7 exhausting days looking for these wonderfull creatures, me and my 2 fellow photographers that joined me in this trip were able to see and photograph this Condors only one day and sadly during the afternoon when the light was less than great, still, the oportunity to see them in their eviroment at more than 3000 mts of altitude and flying at only a few feets from us was more than a magical experience, here's one of the images that I like, as said, the light was not good, I'll have to go back ;), I am actually planning a new trip to that same place but to work with a hide, bait (dead cow or a dead goat or something) on a more controled situation and for a longer period of time. Notice the Red Eye that female Condors have, this one flew below us a few times, hope you like it! Enjoy!

Nice head turn and wing view, good sharpness, and I like the hint of the distant mountains in the BG. That is a bird that looks to be very solidly built.

Stunning capture if for nothing else that you were able to accomplish it. Photographically I like the detail and the way you can see the eye. The up swept wings are nice and show the cruising behavior. Yup, it was harsh light - so what!!

    Ramon:

I am sure you will never forget the trip, and even if the images aren't quite what you hoped for, they will stimulate lots of memories!

Amazing set of wings, lots of lift there!

Thanks for sharing the image and adventure.

Great job with the 300mm. Tough exposure situation with black bird
and white patches. I always end up burning parts and bits.
Love the eye, glad you did not over-saturate the reds.
I'm bit bothered by the crop, not quite sure what I would do.

In any case it is sooo good to see THE bird here,
and in such great presentation. Very cool!

Moment well captured. I like the feather detail and the environment.
    The crop/comp works for me.
    Effort well rewarded.

My friend, I'm green with envy, love ethe wingspan and the BG.
I think if you add a little black to the neutrals in Selective color, it may pop some more.
10 point of black added. Eye selected and lightened in curves. Hope you like it.

Who cares about the light? In fact YOU were there and that is all that matters. Great position and you handled the opportunity with the sort of professionalism one would expect. Well done and look forward to seeing more of these raptors. I'd imagine the wingspan would be about 3 meters?
