Mama fox is only letting the six kits out of the den 3 times a day for 10 minutes then they retreat back. I haven't got the image yet I have envisioned and my window of opportunity is closing in regards to the cuteness factor. I have full frames with their entire bodies while playing but felt the tighter crop with this frame invoked a sense of intimacy. Curious as to your thoughts with my crop selection if you will.

    Mike,
The tight crop works for me. The benefit of tighter crops is that distractions are to a minimum. In web viewing, tighter crops work better than full frames. But if you want to hang it in the wall, then I would prefer a full frame.

I like this image. The way the fellows are looking at each other is nice. Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,

You have truly captured a special moment here, Mike, and I am envious. The green eyes are stunning. I love how the one has its paw on the other's face. You've captured their playful nature and the affection of the moment. The crop works for me in this instance. Your persistence paid off. Congratulations!

I also like the tight crop, esp with the eye contact. Are you really sitting there all day and watching the den? The vixen sounds very strict - at my den the kits come out at 7 am and stay out for 90 minutes if the weather is good although I don't see the vixen. Fun to watch, aren't they?

I like the crop a lot. The way they are looking at each other so intently is super.

Crop puts the focus on the gaze between them. Works well.

I like the tight crop. Really shows the eye contact between the two fox kits.
