While this is wild, I captured it in the grounds of a wildlife park. I doubt I could get this close to a wild one at 300mm.

    Cropped about 20%, off the top only. 30D, 300mm f/4L IS USM, HH, ISO400, f/5.6, 1/250th, 430ex at -2

I wish the bill tip were sharp. This was not quite parallel to cmos plane, and I could not get a better angle. I have one with a sharp bill tip, but it suffers slightly on the head end. :o

Hey Akos, I think you have controlled the whites very well in this. I like the curved formed with the head and neck too. With regards to the bill, maybe a little selective sharpening over it would work. What do you think?

    Thanks Stuart.
I was actually thinking of copying the sharper bill in from the other image. I am not too keen on digitally manipulating to that level though. THanks for the selective sharpening tip. I will try that one! :)

I like the soft light, composition and details. You could selectively sharpen the bill and maybe remove the feather.

Very nice Akos. The bg colours work really well witht he whites of the bird. The only small suggestion I have is to crop off that bit of extra white in LRC. Well done.

Very nice exposure and BG in this capture and I agree about the beautiful soft lighting.

    Beautiful portrait Akos!

Very nice and warm BG. I guess you can fix the bill with a little bit of selective sharpening. Not big deal.
