One last image from the other night at Long Key Nature Center. As I had just arrived about 90 minutes before sunset with clear skies in the west, but stormy grey skies in the east, This beauty was just entering the turn into the nightly roost. It is a heavy crop as the spot where they were turning into the evening sun was a bit far for my 400. 1DMKIIN 400DO ISO 400 F6.3@1/1600
Beautiful flight pose and I love the bright red mating colors of the beak and feet. Good eye contact too It does appear that the light was a little harsh . IMO I would be tempted to crop a little from the left and make it more of a vertical crop. Great timing and thanks for sharing David.
The clouds make for a dramatic BG, I also like the pose and details. I might put the bird a tad further to the left in the frame or crop a little bit off the left.
Love the pose, the sharpness, and the black storm cloud. Even the position of the toes adds interest. Well done!
