Another of my beloved cemetery Apostlebirds. This is an adult, that had no issues posing for me for a few minutes. I patched up a bright OOF leaf in the ULC.

    30D, 300mm f/4L IS USM, HH, ISO400, f/5.6, 1/1000th, EC 0, Cropped to 80% of original.

    Akos:

Amazing detail in the feathers. Nice use of DOF, excellent head position, like the composition and shooting angle.

Really, the only thing that I can make a neg. comment about would be the dark area (shadow?) behind the neck, and that is getting pretty picky!

I am coming to like these birds, through your posting of their images.

    Cheers

    Randy

Amazing sharp Akos, and love the feather detail. I would maybe give a little more space behind the head.

I find with close ups like this, I try and stop down so as to get more DOF. You had enough ss here. Still, well captured mate.

Great details and head angle. I could see this as a vertical crop, too.

Hi Akos, Lost of great detail and I like the exposure also. The only suggestion I might have is for a bit of a crop off the right. Well done.

Good portrait Akos - excellent detail - the background is a bit green - I associate them with greyish earth tones.
