Pilanesberg Nature reserve - 180 kms north of Johannesberg. I know there is no eye contact in this, but I thought I would share something slightly different.

Stuart:
It really does look like he is saying that! Great display of fish. Sharp, well exposed, nice background. Yes, no eye contact, but still this one tells a story.
I think that this image would work well when shown as a group with your others from same location. It is part of the story of this bird species, how they live, etc.
Thanks for sharing. I still don't understand why the spines in the fins don't perforate their digestive tract. Must have really powerful stomach acids to digest them!
Cheers.
Randy
Great moment captured and great eye contact...with the fish. :) I might raise the color temperature a bit since the whites look a bit blueish on my monitor. You handled the harsh light well but I would tone down the highlights some more. There are some artifacts in the BG, probably from JPG compression.
In this instance Stuart I like it the way it is... it was either the fish or the bird. Nice BG, exposure, and detail, although I think the perch could be toned down a bit. Nice shot!

Thats why they swallow them head first:eek:
Great story here and the eye contact with the fish more then makes up for the bird, well done

I think the bird's eyes are where they need to be and this image tells a good story.
We got eye contact from the fish :) believe or not, it helps a lot!
Mate,
Now you'll have the EP (eye police) breathing down your neck! :D
I love the action and that fish is stunned as a mullet (Aussie saying I think). Excellent action shot IMHO. I just feel the perch looks a little too sharp.
Thanks for sharing.
Good detail in the light and dark feathers. I may have been tempted to take a bit off the left so as not to see the end of the stump. love the Bg and colours of the poor fish.
This one's all about showing off his fish so eye contact isn't necessary for me on this one. Great timing.
I will not repeat what I said in your last post of Pied Kingfisher (http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ad.php?t=34537)
But the same applies I am pleased that this one has got a more pleasing acknowledgement.
As for the EP or HAP I for one do not care applying strictures to how a picture should be,is like discussing manipulation, interesting but it does not change the effect on the viewers of the image.
Yet another remarkable shot.
Have you got enough for a celendar?

Thank you all so much for the great feedback.
Ken - I have enough kingfisher images to make not just a calendar, but a couple of hundred books too.
