    D300 200-400@320 hand-held. Manual exposure mode, all natural light. ISO 1600 f5.6 1/800s.

    Taken in Jan this year.

    Cropped dead space at the top and the right.

    Not baited. I just happened to be standing next to the tree - about 15 feet to my left - it was heading. Background is a frozen pond.

    Hi Desmond, great head on pose here, I think the center comp works well with the bird coming straight at you like this, congrats its a species I'd love to photograph.

    Well done Desmond! :) I am not sure about the dark patch in the LLC. Probably wouldn't keep it as the BG looks so nice and white and uniform. Great pose of the head and wings. :)
