    Hi Dave,

Stunning bird. I like the look back over the shoulder. You have good details in the white and good color throughout the feathers. In my opinion, the perch might be a bit large for the bird. Since the perch doesn’t extend completely out of the frame, and appears to have the end cut off, I might be tempted to crop a little off (our left) to remove the OOF end off the perch. I also find the background a bit bright. It might be interesting to see how the image is affected if I were toned down. Thanks for sharing.

    Wow, now, that's a head turn :)

Wel exposed and sharp, I'd crop some off the top to minimize the distracting branches.
There seems to be some purple chromatic aberration in the head, that could be improved at conversion in ACR.
    Beautiful little creature!

Cool pose and details. Another vote for a tighter vertical crop. The eye looks a bit overflashed.

I'd crop off the top a bit, too. Like that eye !

The blues on the swallow have been exposed nicely, and love the pose. I think a vertical crop with a bit off the left will improve this.

    Hi Dave!

What a beautiful bird, and love the head turn pose! I like the soft light exposure on the bird and the iridescence ... it's too bad that the background seems to take it away for me. Maybe the crop suggestions may help out?

Beautiful shot Dave! I always have a tough time with the glossy blue feathers...you've done a nice job here. Is Riefel starting to see some migrants yet? I'm planning to be down in Vancouver at the beginning of May for a few days. Are the Great Horned Owls nesting in the broken tree again this year?

    Cheers!

Thanks for the comments every one. They are much appreciated. I wish I had moved a tad to the right and eliminated the over lap of bg and bird's head. Oh well. I am trying to minimize the amount of cropping because I feel I have over done it in the past.

Bruce, about Riefel, yes I did see various warblers, and the daily psoted list indicated lots of different birds around. I noticed more smaller birds on the road into the parking lot. I parked and walked back on thew road and crossed the small foot bridge on the lagoon side of the road. Lots of R Hummers spinning around also. Good Luck
    Dave
