Taken yesterday at JP Trail....first WT Sparrow of the year feeding on seeds under a feeder..nice to see. Had my camera on Cloudy White Balance, overcast, rainy day..photo came out way oversaturated reds.
I adjusted saturation of reds..sharpened selectively cropped 40%.

Lovely low angle Paul, and great to have the seed in his mouth. I like the comp, and the blades of grass, FG and BG look like flames coming out of the ground. Not a nit, just how I see it.

    Paul:

I agree with Stuart's comments. I do find the background just a bit busy ( I know that is where they live) and you did the best you could with your low angle. The bokeh is actually pretty darn good. I might try dimming the luminance just a little, see if it helps the bird stand out, without upsetting the balance of the image too much. Just my personal preference.

    Thanks for sharing!

I took the liberty of a small tweak on the luminance of the background. See what you think. It is fairly subtle, but I thought it isolated the bird a bit more from the background.

Nice one Paul. Nice sharp details and good eye contact. The bg and fg are a bit distracting for me. Perhaps a desat. of them would help. Not sure. Dave

I would crop a little tighter from top and RHS and sharpen the head a bit more. I like the colors and am fine with the way it's presented naturally in its habitat. :)

I like Randy's repost. Quite a difficult capture with all the distracting BG. Meal is a big plus.
Thanks for sharing this one, Paul!
