    Default Bearded Vulture

This photo of a bearded vulture coming in to land was taken in May last year in the Drankensberg. I have reworked the PP.
This was taken with a Canon 30D and a Canon 500mm Lens.
    Camera settings:
    SS : 1/1000
    App: f5.6
    ISO: 400
It was taken early morning and it was slightly overcast.

    All comments are welcome.

Great comp, and Im amazed at the sharpness you have managed with such a slow ss Dave. I like the upturned wings, and stands out well against the pastel colours of the BG. Congrats on a great image.

    Hi Dave!

Very nice stretched wing position and talons. I like the concentrated look, and the complementary background with the slight diagonal echo. The intense concentration may be improved if it were coming ever-slightly toward us.

Very nice photo for all the reasons listed above only wished for a tad more head turn, still nicely done.

Thanks Manos, Brian, Don and Gary for looking and for the comments.
I agree on the angle but these guys land into the wind and the photo was taken from a hide so I could not change position. The Giants castle hide is a must for anybody visiting SA for bird photography.

Lovely image Dave. Agree on the head angle being a bit away, but I would love to have this anyday.
Im going up in May to Giants and am so excited at the prospect of shooting some bearded vultures.
