Between the BG and the subject placement with-in the frame (rocking boat) I had to replace the background and add canvas to move him over. The neck is a feature on these birds. They are very strong and have the head appearance of an Offensive Tackle from the Chicago Bears.

The eyes are killer. did you consider a close crop of the neck and face - not as majestic but may play up the dominant features of this angle.

Looks like the bird is posing for, and it chose a nice perch too. I would warm up the colour temp some, and get rid of the bluish cast on the osprey's white plumage. A bit too much room above IMO, cropping off the top would help the comp. I like your football comparision :-)

Thanks guys. I think I over corrected the NEF taking out a little too much of the late afternoon sun trying to keep the chest white. The sky was a little pale perhaps and the extra sat goosed it all a little.

Unfortunatly the composition can't be changed anymore. I print at 12x18 and I thought I was doing the right thing when I shot this verticle. In hindsight a horizontal croped tight would have gotten me more what I wanted. As it is, croping the top and or bottom will move the left/right out of whack (too close) and or give me more enlargement then I think the shot will handle. Can't win for losing sometimes.

Thanks for all your help - Bill
