    Question Recommendations for color printer?

I would like to purchase a top of the line color printer. I would like to be able to produce high quality color prints suitable for framing. I would like to be able to produce prints up to about the 11 x 17 size. I would appreciate any recommendations.
    Thanks

HI Kirk I use Epson and can recommend. Used to have 2400 and was a fine unit. Might consider a slightly larger 17x22 printer (3800), makes a difference and will actually save you in ink !! Those large cartriges are better ... much happier with it !!

Quality of photo printers is high and difficult to make a mistake today Canon and HP make some fine units also !!

Hi Kirk the Epson 2400 does print 11 wide up to about 44 inches long. I agree with Al, go for the 3800 if you choose Epson. I have heard the cartridges are much bigger, The 2400 sucks back the ink and it is expensive. Not sure if the 3800 has Vivid Magenta or just the regular. The pro printer in Epson has a different magenta than the 2400. If you go wider you can also get some nicer paper. I am thinking Velvet Fine Art which starts at 17" wide.

HP B9180...I've had it for 1.5 years with no clogs or head replacements (HP had user replaceable heads, epson does not). I also like the auto self-diagnostics/self-cleaning. As long as you leave the printer on (your suppose to). Prints sheets up to 13x19.

I don't like to say me to but I also have the 9180 for about 1 1/2 years and really am happy with it.

If your just doing color the epson 1900 does a great job and cost less then the 2400. Also if your on a budget look at the epson 1400.
