    Stuart:

As you know, I like reds!

Your image is sharp, well exposed. Nice wing position, and I am ok with the head/wing merge, because the difference it colors helps the head standout. His head is turned away a bit, but he really looks like he is concentrating.

I might suggest cropping up about 1/3 of the water from the bottom. The large expanse of water doesn't add much IMHO.

My only other comment has to do with the background. It unfortunate that the color is so close to birds, it causing the bird to blend in a bit much for my taste. Perhaps a bit more tweaking in post could make him pop a bit more.

    I do like him!

Nice capture with great wing detail Stuart. HA is fine with me as is the BG as for my taste there is enough subtle difference to see the contrast between wing and BG. Lovely bird and I do agree with Randy regarding cutting more off the bottom. :)

Details and raised wings are great. Another vote for a crop off the bottom.

agree with crop, may also look at a slight color shift in background to increase contrast - love the details in the neck feathers.

One more vote for some crop off the bottom. It also looks like to me a bit of rotation adjustment doesn't hurt either.

Lovely low angle, and love the wingspread. The BG colours dont bother me,with regards to blending with the subject, and overall, I like the colours in this. Another vote to take some off the bottom.

I also like the pastel colours but agree that a bit cropped off the bottom will improve the image.
I would also rotate just a touch anti-clockwise it feels as thought the water line is dipping to the right.

    Hi Stuart!

Unfortunately another vote to trim the bottom. I would also prefer to see less merge of the head and the far wing. The image tells a story with nice concentration.
