    Default April Idaho Owl

Got this male Burrowing Owl to respond to a call.
Unfortunately it was near noon and sun light was harsh.

Good self critique on the harsh light. The light also appears to be coming from the side. If possible moving to your right might have help on the light angle. I do like the direct look and palcement in the frame. Thansk for sharing.

    Hi Kim!

I agree with Phil's and your assesment regarding the harsh light ... too bad. Nice eye contact. On my screen, the feathers look slightly noisy.

Lovely eye contact Kim, and light covered. There are so many owl posts on this site, and I cant get a single one.

    Stuart -

I spent a day and a half looking, observing and several hour in a blind just prior to taking any of the Burrowing Owls. I did get this one and quite a few others but not at the location where I spent most of the time.

I happened to leave that sight and saw one down the road, observed it at a distance and decided to try for capturing it. As I investigated I found there were two going to burrow here. They were much more responsive to a call and to even having an image taken and I think it was because there were fewer in this area.
