    Default Female Belted Kingfisher.

I checked out a small pond five minutes drive from where I live. I was expecting Ducks and was ready to take flight shots. No Ducks but located a Kingfisher by sound. I used my car as a blind.
This is a large crop, couldn't get any closer.
I intend to set up a blind of she keeps coming back.
I removed one small branch running right beside the bird and the shadow of it from the bird.
    Critiques are welcomed.

Large crop or not it is a sweet image! BKFs are about the hardest to get near. I once set a blind in the dark and by the time the sun was on the "dive" zone time the the KF was full of breakfast and sat on a wire grooming! Good luck and post you captures!! Bob

Nice simple KF image with a good basic comp. Tough to get close to, and the large crop is starting to show here. I like the thin perch, but I'm not crazy about the taller vertical twig. Hope your project with these guys (gals) turns out succesfully!!

Nice image of what has been in my experience a difficult one to capture.

Personally I would trim some vertical twigs in post.

Cute little guy. Our kingfishers over here with those colours are our giant kingfishers, the largest species of KF, and certainly much bigger than this little fellow. Comp wise, I would take a bit off the bottom to where the branch comes intothe image.
