I captured it a couple of days ago at a local lagoon. Reasonably happy with wing pose etc. I had to add canvas in front as in the original the cormie was a little too far forward. Cropped 20% all around.

Good job getting that turquoise eye -- not always easy to get with the cormorants.

Man, this guy looks like a speeding bullet! Nice and sharp, and I love the matching eye to the sky. I like the definition in the flight feathers. The darkest blacks (where belly meets far wing) look blocked, but the rest of the bird is well exposed. Well done!

Thank you both! I may try and recover some darks there if possible. I am pretty sure this was just available light, so a flash should have been used. Silly me. Ah well, next time.

I must have taken at least 200 images if CIF (Cormies in flight) that afternoon and I have one more I think is OK. The rest...... No one said BIF is easy! :)

Great pose with the eye contact and body turn. Eye is nice and sharp. Don't know how fast these things fly but he really gives the impression of speed.

These are difficult characters to expose Akos, but you have done exceptionally well in this. I like the full wingspread, and this is nice and sharp too. A vertical comp could work.

I like the pose and eye contact. Adding to the other comments, I would sharpen the bird a bit more.
