    Default Varied Thrush

Atop my list for 2008 was this species so I was thrilled to get a few nice frames of them on Monday. I'm going to keep working on this species but I am pretty happy to have had this opportunity with this gorgeous species.

    Cheers!

That is one beautiful thrush Glenn. I love that detail in the dark feathers on the back. Background and head position are lovely. Wondering how it would look without the twig the bird is facing and the oof one on the right.

Wow Glen!! the stream of new bird species that I've never layed eyes on before just keep on coming - and this Thrush is no exception - what attractive plumage that you have done justice to with appropriate exposure - great pose and head angle.
I realize the twigs at bottom left and upper right are filling in some negative space but from where I sit composition would be improved without them, but only a personal preference - still great as is!!

    Hey Glenn,

What a lovely looking bird and photograph. The pose is great and the colors are fantastic. The only thing I would do is to clone out the piece of tree in the BG.

Lovely with a perfect head turn and soft, soft light. All of the branches provide a rather nice framing. Did you have to get rid of any other branches?

When I originally processed this I removed the branch in the upper right. I put it back in because I think it balances the composition and as Artie said frames the bird. I did clone out a few other branches that were not as flattering ;)

Beautiful bird and well captured. I like the pose and details, light and pose. Good choice on the remaining branches. :)

Sweet, Glen. Just an excellent image of a hard bird to get in the clear. I don't mind the little branches, they do draw your eyes to the subject.

Glenn, this is a really fine image. A stunning species...and you photographed it so well. The background is beautiful and the framing branches work very well.

    I can only dream. :)
