    Default Hummingbird nest

This while not a great photo was taken this morning at Corkscrew. I've posted it only to share with you guys what a Ruby throat hummingbird nest looks like. Its a tough shoot being over 60 ft away and very high up and shooting off a moving boardwalk.

Not sure using flash with beamer on the nest is such a good idea.

Fabs I've got no choise, the bird is back lite and comes out black with out a flash, and the tree is swaying in the breeze and the flash helps stop the motion

Hi Rod, hard to pass up such an opportunity. I believe Fabs was addressing the effect on the nesting birds not the image. But I shouldn't speak for her. Would love to see a hummer nest sometime!

Rod, please have a look at the image posting instructions. There is some html code in your message and the image is not linked correctly and the forum software can't create a thumbnail because of that.

I see your point, on nesting birds that are not ready to fledge the flash is alright. When the fledglings are old enough to jump from the nest you need to be careful the flash doesn't frighten them, and best not to use it.

Thanks Axel, I'm always reluctant to use Paypal to renew my subscription because I've had people order my products and pay with Paypal and I've never received payment. Even after my clients have assured me that the payment has be sent. Last night when I posted the image the only way to post it was a link, we can't do that? Thanks Rod

You can certainly link to your own webspace but you used [URL] instead of [IMG], which is why there was no thumbnail. I fixed it for you. It works best to use the yellow 'insert image' button above the text box if you link to an image.
