Welcome Seyed, what a nice image to start with! I like the eye contact, the metering is spot on and the background is amazing!

    Babak:

    Welcome to BPN!

Very nice first post. Your owl is sharp, nice look back head position. I like what looks like a bit of blood on the bill.

The lighting is quite interesting, the bird being in shadow with a little backlighting rim/outline on the left.
    Background is complimentary.

If I might suggest a cropping option, I would probably crop in from the left just enough to eliminate the upright trunk, and come in a bit from the left to balance it out again.

Thanks for sharing! Keep them coming.

Welcome to BPN. Amazing light and colours, and as Chris said, well exposed. I also agree with Randy with regards to cropping from the left.

Welcome, and thanks for posting such a stunning first image. The colors just pop and the intense stare of the owl (complete with a bloody bill) provide a lot of interest. I think it really helps that the background is not a uniform color, but has some great tonal variation. Nice work Babak!

Welcome to BPN, Babak! Very nice first post, I like the perch, light and BG. This might work as vertical crop, too. That way you would not have to deal with the trunk in the upper left. Keep them coming!

Welcome to BPN Babak, and such a striking image to start with! I agree that it would be better not to have the upright trunk in the upper left corner, but I would clone or patch it out instead of cropping. Here is my reasoning for not cropping: the hole in the perch would end up too close to the left edge of the frame - I like the space between that hole and edge (speaking of which, I kinda wish it was complete at bottom too). Cloning or patching would keep the already good compositional balance of the owl and perch intact. Looking forward to more from you!! :-)

Amazing first post. The background and overall tones in this image are very captivating. I agree with the above, and might play around with some cropping options just to see if you can improve on this already striking image! Looking forward to more!

    HI Babak and welcome! :)

Great first image posted indeed. I am unsure whether I would crop or leave the trunk on left. I like the overall look of the composition and the warm glow it conveys. Congratulations and thanks for sharing!

What species of Owl is this by the way? Thanks. :)

    Great shot Babak,
I love the light and warm tones, blood on the bill is a bonus! I agree that a bit tighter crop might work better but I like it as is... I also see some color noise/blotches on the feathers you can easily clean these up.
    Welcome to BPN.
