    Hi Jeni,
I like the composition and capture, I recommend on opening up the mid-tones in the head area just a tad, and desaturate or tone down the white spots in the background, and give it a pass of noise reduction...good show...I like it...

Jeni, I like it and think you got some good detail and a nice pose. Would run some NR that's all.

Hi Jenii - agree with Gus's critique, he pretty much nailed it. Not sure about the HA - I can remember Artie telling me on one of my posts, that for preening images the head had to be parralell to the sensor.

Gorgeous bird - really like the colours and the pose - bit tight at the bottom tail only just fits in - can see why you wouldn't want to include more though - big perch.

Hi Jeni, looks to me like you nailed it. Good pose, details, and BG. HA looks fine to me too. Would just run some NR as mentioned. Good job!

    Jeni,

Great shot, love the size of his bill. You do a great job with framing and giving the scene balance. I might even out BR a tad, like Gus said, maybe minimize white spots.

Thank you all, appreciate the advice.:D
Re Gus - I have brushed in lightly to cover the white areas though don't want to smooth out too much here - I like the contrast in bg; have opened up midtones on head and run NR.:)
Re Lance - Tail was tight but it's full frame so when I took it I had a choice of leaving more below or less above the head and I thought to leave more space for the head like it would be if the head was lifted normally.
    Better?
