The anchoring points are the ends of the wings framing the composition, it is balanced and has symmetry. I like the wide open wing span, with the fine sharp details...I like the color rendition and the rich blue sky compliments your subject quite well...and yes it works, and it works for me...good show Mr. Peters...I like it...:)

.... Lance it has a perfect ha .... is just all of are looking at it from the wrong angle :)

As presented I like it as a record image, does show the back well. For a working keeper need to do away with fg nasties !!!

I like it with the noted items resolved. However, I would suggest a wider canvas. I feel it is cramped a little too much. It makes me feel that if the bird took off, it would break a wing on the borders! But although the head is nice to have, it isn't always available on your side of the bird. ; > )

Lance, IMO the wing span and feather detail create enough interest to make it work. The blue BG is nice too. Certainly not a wow photo, but definitely one I would keep.

My two cents worth - BG/FG nasties definetly needed to be out of the way - coulldn't make that happen on this particular day ---- also would have liked a little softer light - a bit harsh for a keeper in my books.

Was wishing for a look back over the shoulder whilst in this pose - then might have had something to work with, but guess he was too intrested in testing those wings out :)
(Took lots of shots - from lots of angles but couldn't get all the elements to come together)

This one goes in my reshoot pile - another opp next march/april

Even later to the party. Agree with D on the details , but also agree with Mark regarding how tight the image is. Would like to see a little more canvas. IMO.
