This image is of ice boats on Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, which I took in my early days of home darkroom work (about 30 years ago). I was taking night courses in photography and darkroom techniques at the time. It was also my first Christmas Card. The image was in B&W and after making a print, I did multiple paper negatives of the image, using the previous print for the negative and contact printing them. Each time I flashed the print, in the developer, solarizing the image a little.
In the Christmas Card I also reinforced the rigging lines. drawing them in on the back of the "negative", as I went from one generation to the other. Regrettably, I am unable to do that in Photo Elements, due to the nature of the line movements.
I did add the color to this image, due to the lack of finite detail from the old file.
