Welcome, Dave. Superb first post. Lovely light and pose - prey in the bill is amazing. Look forward to more of your images. What format is your image in? - it seems not to have a .jpg suffix which may effect the thumbnail display.

I have been looking more closely at your post and see it is a jpg. Not sure why but there seem to be 2 image links in your post - one above the written details and one below. If you edit your post and delete the 2nd link it may resolve the problem as having 2 images in a post prevents a thumbnails displaying.

Welcome Dave. Great first post. I like the angle of flight in this, and also the view from the top. Lovely colours, and pity you couldnt have equal light on both wings. Still, very well exposed, and well captured.

What a start, I am deeply envious, I am still trying for a good (let alone this good) Carmine in flight. Could you please let us know where it was taken?

    Welcome to BPN.

Perfect in every way. Perfect sweet exposure, head angle and BG. Diagonal wings works so well.

What a stunning first post there mate. :) I am blown away; the wingspread is perfect, great head angle, and those beautiful colors just add to the overall A+ rating. And did I mention the prey? I am stunned! :) Thanks for sharing Dave.

    Dave. big welcome to BPN.

Impressive grand entrance, with great top view of a beautiful bird. I'd go a bit lighter if it were mine.
will be looking forward to more from you!

Wellcome on board and a master class first post Dave. I have nothing to criticize in this image. BG is outstandig, sharpness prefect, light, pose and eye contact. We can not ask for for. Keep them coming :-)
