Captured just before the sun went down at the Salton Sea. Converted in LR then massaged in CS4. Did a Topaz Denoise on the background and selective Nik Sharpener Pro on the bird.

    50D, EF400mm f/5.6L +1.4x = 560mm
Manual mode, f/8@1/2000 ISO 800 AWB
Manual focus, tripod no flash w/double bubble

    Thanks!

Lovely - really like the water drops and the wave action - good Head angle with a clear sharp eye and the exposure looks good. Good show - Like it a lot!!!!!!!!!!

Were you in the water for this shot??

Couple of nearly hot spots on the neck area on my screen.

Did well with the noise Kerry !!! ... and I like the longer focal length !!

Settings wise I would be comfortable even with slightly lower shutter speed for lowering the ISO but it worked just fine !!

Really good looking image and not much not to like here, if you have more room wouldn't mind a bit more all around but its just taste. Like it a lot !!!

    Hi Kerry,
I think this is a sweet image, I like the quality and color of the water, combined with the water droplets...the head angle and eye contact are dead on...congrats...
