I like the breeding colours and plumage on this guy. Although the feet are missing, you did not clip them so it looks OK. The thick trunk behind the head is a bit of a distraction. I find the whites a tiny bit dark and I also detect a bluish cast on the egret, surely cused by the shade it was in. I boosted the whites and got rid of the cast in one single click by resetting the white point in levels (there are resulting hot spots on the shoulder that can be cleaned up nicely on a full-size version, but it shows the difference I wanted to show). I also cropped a bit at left to eliminate the extra layer of green running along the edge and give a smoother finish there.

I like the changes Daniel The slight warmer image makes a difference.

The large trunk behind the bird does catch my attention but I like how the entire head has all trunk behind it !! ... feet wise ... I want them feet !!! :)

Daniel's changes did improve the feel of the image in my opinion. I can live with the trunk behind the bird's head. I agree with Alfred; I miss the feet.

I should add that although I find the trunk somewhat distracting, Stuart did a great job lining it up as good as it could be for this situation.
