    Default Two Geese

Taken at Coyote Hills Fremont CA
    Olympus E-3 150mmF2 w/TC1.4
    ISO400 f/4.5 1/2500sec
    Continuous Auto Focus

These guys blasted off almost directly in front of me and turned slightly. This was about the 4th shot in a sequence. It seems almost unrealistically gold in color. If I take a white balance off the neck, it changes the sky a little but the birds remain gold. I kept the white balance as shot from the camera.

Hi Ned - looks alittle dark on my screen - would suggest it is a little under exposed, your blacks are blocked (no detail) with black and white birds soft light is the key.

Made a few quick adjustments using levels - any better.

Do like the wing positions and the pose - looking forward to seeing more :)

    Fine re post Lance !!!

I like it Ned You got good separation between the birds and fine wing positions. Did not see the exp comp but seems like the camera exp was a bit under, remember they can be opened up in PS but noise will be introduced !!!

Thanks for the responses. It really helps to understand what others see so I can start to understand what to look for. I'll take a look at how it was exposed. I assume it was under due to the sky.

    Thanks again,

    Ned

Nice shot, given the other comments.

Nice to see the birds of my youth, AKA Horicon NWR in Wisconsin. 250-500,000 annually in spring and fall. One of the things I miss. I can hear the honking in your shot though! ; > )

I like the composition and capture Ned,
The birds are well placed in frame...Mr. Peters' repost puts this one over the top...
