Default Drake Wood duck in a tree

I had several wood duck pairs crashing through the trees above me last weekend. I was able to capture this drake who happened to land in the open with decen light. I like the uniqueness of the background. Although they spend a decent amount of time in trees, I don't usually see a lot of photos of them there. I look forward to hearing feedback.

Excellent shot Bryan, great to get one in a tree with a clear view, nice head turn, lighting, the tail's maybe just a touch close to the bottom of the frame, but that's very minor, congrats.

Well done Bryan with this shot. I perhaps need not ask is this the reason they are called Wood Duck? Like the HA and unusual setting. :)

Nice pose and an unusual shot. Good of him to turn his head on the direction of the limb behind him. Color, detail look good.

I like the sharpness and the head turn but there are a few too many branches for me.

Thanks Arthur for your input. Would you suggest trying to clone some branches out, or is it not worth it and is what it is? Thanks.

Hi Brian, Sorry that I almost missed this. I would not try cloning out the branches as there are just too, too many, so not worth it to me. And yes, it is what it is but what is does not usually make a pleasing image....
